
Jay Ryder - PresidentAfter working with Ryder Homes since childhood, Jay Ryder joined the firm fulltime in 1990. His involvement in overall corporate and project management in Northern California includes land acquisition, entitlement processing, sales and marketing, construction management, the establishment of strategic direction and product development, and overseeing activities of all Vice Presidents. By combining an impressive team of professionals with vast real estate experience, Jay assembled a Senior Management team to enable and position Ryder Homes to effectively reach its goals.
Jay has a Bachelors of Arts in Geology and Economics from Colgate University and an MBA from the Haas School of Business at the University of California. He is a licensed California and Nevada real estate broker and currently holds both California and Nevada general contractor licenses.
John Schroeder - Vice President—Division Manager, Northern Nevada
Coming to Ryder Homes in 1994, John Schroeder heads the Northern Nevada Division, overseeing daily operations, including construction, sales and marketing, and warranty. He also directs land acquisition, development activities and purchasing for all new communities.
His background includes serving as Vice President and General Manager for Dunmore Homes in Las Vegas and prior managerial experience with various engineering, construction, and general contracting firms.
His undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from California State University, Chico. He holds two graduate degrees from Stanford University, both in Construction Management.
Tim Saunders - Vice President
Tim Saunders came to Ryder Homes in January 1998, bringing his expertise to land acquisitions, governmental approvals, entitlements, and project management. Before joining the team, Tim honed his management skills, as well as land acquisition capabilities at William Lyon Homes of Northern California and was previously a principal in a real estate mortgage company.
He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Communications from the University of California, Davis.
Todd Blaettler - Vice President
Todd’s current responsibilities as Project Manager in Northern California include land acquisition and entitlement, securing government approvals, and project management. In Todd’s prior role as VP of Finance at Ryder Homes, he supported all economic matters of the business, both corporate and project-specific. Before joining Ryder in 1996, Todd served as Controller for a privately owned developer, after working at both Big-4 and regional accounting firms providing CPA services for real estate clients.
Todd holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Princeton University and a Masters in Business Administration from New York University.
